Psychedelics for Healing a new conversation with Deepak Chopra & special guests, Gita Vaid & Barry Walker Join us to discover how ancient medicines are being reactivated to support inner-work & deep healing in therapeutic settings. • • • • • • • From ancient times and across traditions, psychedelic agents have been used in sacred rituals and ceremonies for both individual and collective healing and transformation. Since the 1950’s and increasingly in current research contexts, these exotic medicines are being reconsidered as valuable tools to support deep healing from emotional trauma. Today, the opportunity for a new synthesis is emerging in which a practical deployment of these age-old methods within an expanded landscape of psychotherapy, along with meditative & healing practices, can provide a context for inner work towards self-knowledge, repair and consciousness exploration. When properly integrated with these various approaches, psychedelic modalities can radically enhance mind, body and spirit alignment, and lead seamlessly to profound contact with one’s essence, consciousness and deep spiritual growth beyond the confines of self. Gita Vaid, MD, is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst in private practice in New York City. She is currently doing psychedelic research with the MAPS MDMA/PTSD Psychotherapy Study as well as developing protocols for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for integrated healing and spiritual growth. She is presently embarked on a project with Barry Walker to invent new psychotherapeutic models that integrate a variety of emerging and complementary modalities.
